# Notifications

Stay informed about your positions and market opportunities.

Stay informed about your positions and market activity through push notifications.

### Installing the PWA

Bullpen works best as a Progressive Web App (PWA) installed on your device. This enables push notifications and provides an app-like experience.

#### iOS Installation

**iOS 16.4 and Later**

1. Open Safari and go to [app.bullpen.fi](https://app.bullpen.fi)
2. Tap the **Share** button (square with arrow)
3. Scroll down and tap **Add to Home Screen**
4. Name it "Bullpen" and tap **Add**
5. Open the app from your home screen
6. When prompted, tap **Allow** for notifications

**iOS 17+ (Improved Support)**

iOS 17 added better PWA notification support:

1. Follow the same installation steps above
2. Notifications work more reliably with background refresh
3. Sound and badge notifications are supported

**Pre-iOS 16.4**

PWA push notifications are not supported on iOS versions before 16.4. Update your device to iOS 16.4 or later to receive notifications.

#### Android Installation

**Chrome (Recommended)**

1. Open Chrome and go to [app.bullpen.fi](https://app.bullpen.fi)
2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right
3. Tap **Add to Home screen** or **Install app**
4. Confirm by tapping **Install**
5. Open the app from your home screen
6. When prompted, tap **Allow** for notifications

**Samsung Internet**

1. Open Samsung Internet and go to [app.bullpen.fi](https://app.bullpen.fi)
2. Tap the menu icon
3. Tap **Add page to** then **Home screen**
4. Open the app and allow notifications when prompted

**Other Android Browsers**

Most Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Opera) support PWA installation:

1. Look for an "Install" prompt in the address bar or menu
2. Follow the browser's installation flow
3. Allow notifications when prompted

### Enabling Notifications

After installing the PWA:

1. Open Bullpen from your home screen (not in a browser tab)
2. Go to **Settings** > **Notifications**
3. Toggle on the notification types you want
4. If prompted by your device, allow notifications

#### Notification Types

Bullpen sends notifications for:

* **Position updates**: TP/SL triggers, liquidation warnings
* **Order fills**: When your orders execute
* **Wallet activity**: Deposits and withdrawals

### Troubleshooting

#### Not receiving notifications?

**On iOS:**

* Ensure you're running iOS 16.4 or later
* Open Settings > Bullpen > Notifications and ensure they're enabled
* Make sure Background App Refresh is enabled
* Check that Do Not Disturb is off

**On Android:**

* Check Settings > Apps > Bullpen > Notifications
* Ensure battery optimization isn't blocking the app
* Verify the app has notification permissions

#### Notifications delayed?

* iOS may batch notifications when the device is in low power mode
* Android battery optimization can delay background notifications
* For time-sensitive alerts, keep the app open or check regularly

#### App not appearing as installed?

* Make sure you're adding from Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android)
* Clear browser cache and try reinstalling
* Restart your device after installation

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.bullpen.fi/features/notifications.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
