# Account Types

Bullpen maintains separate account balances for different market types.

## Account Structure

| Account                | Collateral       | Purpose                           |
| ---------------------- | ---------------- | --------------------------------- |
| **Polymarket**         | USDC.e (Polygon) | Prediction markets                |
| **Perps**              | USDC             | Hyperliquid perpetual futures     |
| **Spot (Hyperliquid)** | USDC | Hyperliquid spot markets via UNIT |
| **Spot (Solana)** | SOL / SPL tokens | Solana token trading |

## Why Separate Accounts?

Different markets have different collateral and settlement requirements:

* **Polymarket** uses USDC.e on Polygon and settles at market resolution
* **Perps** use USDC margin and settle PnL in USDC
* **Hyperliquid spot** settles in the actual tokens traded
* **Solana spot** uses native Solana tokens and SPL standards

Separating accounts ensures collateral for one market type isn't accidentally used for another.

## Viewing Balances

The app shows your balances for each account type:

* **Total Portfolio Value**: Aggregate across all accounts
* **Polymarket Balance**: Available USDC.e + open position value
* **Perps Balance**: Available USDC margin + unrealized PnL
* **Spot Balances**: Token holdings by chain

## Transferring Between Accounts

Use the transfer module to move funds:

1. Open the transfer/account section (bottom-right in the app)
2. Select source account
3. Select destination account
4. Enter amount
5. Confirm transfer

Transfers within Bullpen are near-instant.

### Transfer Routes

| From       | To         | Notes                                   |
| ---------- | ---------- | --------------------------------------- |
| Solana     | Polymarket | Bridges to USDC.e on Polygon            |
| Solana     | HL Perps   | Transfers SOL/USDC to Hyperliquid       |
| Solana | HL Spot | Transfers to Hyperliquid spot account |
| HL Perps | HL Spot | Internal Hyperliquid transfer (instant) |
| HL Spot | HL Perps | Internal Hyperliquid transfer (instant) |
| HL Perps | Polymarket | Bridges USDC to USDC.e on Polygon |
| HL Spot | Polymarket | Bridges USDC to USDC.e on Polygon |
| HL Perps | Solana | Transfers back to Solana |
| Polymarket | Solana     | Bridges USDC.e back to Solana           |
| Polymarket | HL Perps | Bridges USDC.e to USDC on Hyperliquid |
| Polymarket | HL Spot | Bridges USDC.e to USDC on Hyperliquid |

Cross-chain transfers (Solana ↔ Hyperliquid, Solana ↔ Polymarket, Hyperliquid ↔ Polymarket) may take a few seconds to minutes.

# Agent Instructions
This documentation is published with GitBook. GitBook is the documentation platform designed so that both humans and AI agents can read, navigate, and reason over technical content effectively. Learn more at gitbook.com.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.bullpen.fi/getting-started/account-types.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
